The 'Lost' 5: Prepping for 'Everybody Loves Hugo'
"Happily Ever After," last week's Desmond-centric episode of
"Lost," set fans a'chatter -- and a'Twitter -- to perhaps a greater
degree than any other episode this season. Can this week's episode
-- "Everybody Loves Hugo," which puts our beloved Hurley in the
role of central character -- spark even more wild theorizing and
endless analyzing? With only five more "Lost" episodes to follow
after tonight's, I sure hope so. Without further ado, here are five
issues to mull over before we get some fresh perspective on the
Amazing Reyes. 1. Why can't MIB just leave the island? During the
most recent "Lost" audio podcast, a reader wondered why MIB didn't
just get on the sub and flee the island back in the '70s. "How is
Jacob holding him there?" he asked. Carlton Cuse responded by
noting that that'...
'Lost': Getting its props in a New York exhibit
During all the "Lost" bedlam over the past week-plus -- the
LindeCuse interview, ongoing analysis of "The End" (people are
still adding comments and theories!), keeping track of all the
"Lost" info on the Web, incessantly weeping -- I never got around
to posting my photos from the opening night of the "Lost" exhibit
at the Vilcek Foundation in New York. So I'm doing it now because
the exhibit -- which contains amazing props, from the Dharma van to
the dress Kate wore during that oh-so-special season three brunch
with Ben -- remains open to the public until June 5. So if you're
in the Big Apple or headed that way for the Memorial Day weekend,
you still have time to check out all the items yourself. (In the
gallery, you'll also find pics of some of the "Lost" stars who were
on-hand for the o...
The final season of 'Lost' earns 12 Emmy Award nominations
Man of science, man of faith, men of Emmy nominations. (ABC) For
"Lost" fans expecting their dearly departed series to be snubbed by
the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, this morning's Emmy
Award nominations were a pleasant surprise. The Dharma drama earned
12 nominations for its final season, the most the show has amassed
since 2005, when it also scored a dozen nods and won six trophies,
including one for Best Drama, for its groundbreaking first season.
Even the most loyal "Lost" fan -- and by that I mean me -- will
tell you that while season six certainly delivered some emotional
high points (please see the weep-athon that was the finale), it was
hardly the strongest season in the show's run. It's fair to assume
the Academy members may have doled out these nominations as a...
'Lost' Dueling Analysis: 'The Candidate'
In which Jen and Liz contemplate the sadness of losing beloved
characters, the age old battle between good vs. evil and the
yet-to-come final 4.5 hours of "Lost." Read along, then join them
at 2 p.m. ET for the "Lost" Hour live chat. In the meantime, visit
"Lost" Central to brush up on your island back story. Ladies and
gentlemen, our candidates: Dr. Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox, left)
and John Locke/MIB (Terry O'Quinn). (ABC) Liz: "What makes you
think letting go is easy?" Jack's words to John at the end of
tonight's episode are resonating with me because, like the rest of
the "Lost"-watching nation, I'm in shock. We lost three main
characters: Jin and Sun and Sayid. I literally have no words. You
hinted in yesterday's "Lost" 5 post that we were going to lose a
major character, but I don't ...
